Frequently Asked Questions

Rentals

When can I pick up my rental and return it?

You can pick up your rental at ANY time during our office hours, we run on a 24-hour rental time. This means that the time you pick up your golf cart you must not return later than the time you picked it up. Know this when booking, you are not paying for an extra day because we do a 24-hour turnaround time.

EX: pick up rental at 12:00 p.m. and will return at 12 p.m. day of rental ending

What is a lifted and non-lifted golf cart?

If you plan to take your golf cart rental somewhere with slightly more rugged terrain, you may want to consider a lifted golf cart. Given a little boost, lifted carts have larger tires that can handle rougher terrains and heavier loads. They are easier to get in and out of. And, with larger tires comes the ability to reach higher speeds! The lifted and non-lifted golf carts otherwise look exactly the same and drive the same so it’s up to you!

Should I get a GAS or an ELECTRIC golf cart?

GAS PROS: Gas golf carts tend to be more powerful than electric carts, letting them pull heavier loads. And while you won’t have to worry about your cart’s battery life, you WILL need to monitor fuel levels and refill your gas cart if necessary. They also come with a Carolina beach sticker parking pass so you can park in the public parking lots on the island.

GAS CONS: Gas golf carts offer a slightly rougher ride. They give off a mild vibration, make more noise, release more exhaust odors, and radiate heat from beneath the seats. While both gas and electric golf carts are reliable, gas golf carts have more parts – and thus, are more likely to go bad or develop an unforeseen issue.

OUR GAS GOLF CARTS ARE ONLY ALLOWED IN CAROLINA BEACH (NOT KURE BEACH OR FORT FISHER).

ELECTRIC PROS: Running on battery instead of gas means that you’ll get a smoother, more peaceful ride without all the noise, smells, and vibrations of gas carts. And while gas golf carts are typically faster than most electric carts, that’s not the case SunFun’s electric Advanced EV golf carts. Getting up to 25 mph, our readily available Advanced EV golf carts are street legal at Carolina Beach AND Kure Beach.

ELECTRIC CONS: The main drawback of electric golf carts is the battery life. It can be challenging to determine when electric carts will run out of battery. And depending on the cart, you may only be able to ride 30 to 40 miles on a single charge. While that may not seem like very much, most people only travel 5 to 10 miles per day. Golf carts last 1 hour and 30 min so keep that in mind while driving.

How do I charge my golf cart?

Two things to do to help you keep your battery life while renting the cart and having to avoid charging for long hours are to do these two things:

  1. Make sure the cart does not go beyond 50%. Anything lower than that will take a full 8 HOURS to bring it up to a full charge. So please, when driving, always pay attention to your battery. Plan long trips by driving accordingly and on full charge. When your battery is low, turn it back around to charge it.
  2. If you are not using the golf cart, CHARGE IT. You are not going to overcharge your cart. This will ensure that you will always have some battery on your golf cart and that it doesn't get low.

Always check our rental page and watch the full video on how to properly charge your golf cart to avoid user error.

Do you deliver rentals?

YES, if you are staying in Wilmington, Leland, Wrightsville beach, Ocean Isle beach, Oak Island, Holden beach, Southport, Caswell beach, Shallotte. If you are staying in the pleasure island area (Carolina beach and Kure beach) we DO NOT deliver. We have a location in Kure and Carolina beach for you to pick up your rental in person.

What is the cancelation policy?

You can cancel your reservation up to 48 hours before your rental starts for a full refund. We cannot refund due to weather conditions or for picking up late.

How does rental delivery work?

YOUR GOLF CART WILL BE DROPPED OFF THE FIRST DAY OF YOUR RESERVATION AND PICKED-UP ON THE LAST DAY OF YOUR RESERVATION (Example: Sunday-Friday reservation; the cart will be dropped-off Sunday and picked-up Friday)

Delivery extends to Oak Island, Southport, Wrightsville Beach, Ocean Isle, and Holden Beach. $60.00 delivery fee waived on weekly rentals (Due to the restrictions imposed by Figure 8 Island in Wilmington, we are no longer able to service that area for rentals. We apologize for the inconvenience).

Customers must request delivery with vacation address in 'notes' section on the reservation page. Deliveries must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance.

PLEASE NOTE: ALL TRUCKS RUN ON A ROUTE. WE CANNOT GUARANTEE A DELIVERY OR PICK-UP TIME-ONLY A DELIVERY/PICK-UP DAY.

Due to this, the time will vary. The time your cart gets delivered may not be the same time it gets picked up. Please keep this in mind when renting with us: you might not get it used for the entire day of your start date and end date. We suggest you rent for more than 5 days with us to get the most out of your time and follow the same dates as your vacation property.

You will be texted a general ETA of the arrival of your golf cart for delivery and pick ups and do not have to be present to receive the golf cart or have it picked up.

What’s the minimum amount I can rent a golf cart?

Electric golf carts require a 2-day minimum (48 hours) and gas golf carts can be rented for a 24-hour minimum.

Where can I drive the golf cart?

ALL of our golf carts are street legal; you can drive them on any road 35 mph or lower. Do not drive on roads that exceed this limit due to the golf cart being a low-speed vehicle and only reaching up to 25mph speeds.

Can children and pets ride along?

YES! Children under the age of 8 do have to be seated facing forward and if any children require a booster or car seat, please make sure they are in one in the golf cart. Pets are allowed as well as long as they are secured or safe to ride!

Can I use an extension cord?

NO! extension cords are a fire hazard and they also WILL NOT properly support the charge of your golf cart and will result in the battery fully dying.

Where do I charge my cart?

if you have an electric golf cart, you are required to have an outlet at where you are staying to charge the golf cart. A standard 110-amp outlet so double check with your rental property!

Can I return my cart after hours if its within my rental timeframe?

Of course! If you need to return your cart early or before/after our hours, just park the rental in a parking spot up front and put the key in the drop box that can be found on the wall by the front door.

What are the rules regarding driving my golf cart rental?

Please search the area you are staying in to look up their town rules and what that regards toward driving your rental (ex: roads you cant drive on, areas you cant cross).
